The District provides both percent (%) and flat rate cost-share for a variety of practices. Common structural practices in the county includes: Water and Sediment Control Basins (WASCOBs), grassed waterways, terraces, grade stabilizations and diversions. Some common nonstructural practices can include cover crops, no-till, strip-till or critical area plantings. Overall, the objectives of approved practices include activities that:

1. control nutrient runoff

2. stabilize critical eroding areas

3. divert runoff to protect and improve water quality

4. reduce wind erosion

5. control gully, rill or sheet erosion

6. protect shoreland from erosion

7. control stormwater runoff or

8. protect surface water and groundwater quality
